This installation pairs repeating images of quotidian power structures - safes, fireworks, roads, electrical lines, and the landscape grid plan of subdivisions - with the layered sounds of fourth of july celebrations in the United States - children laughing and street vendors calling while explosions repeat, seemingly infinitely. The echo effect of repetition in both the low-res images and the percussive soundscape amplifies the normalization of celebrating destructive power in Americans’ everyday lives.
